David Barker Makes Progress in Ginetta Challenge

Ginetta Challenge, Silverstone (Photo: MSportUK.com)Silverstone GP Blanchpain Endurance series: 9.10.11 The last race weekend of the Ginetta challenge was at Silevrstone supporting the Blancpain Endurance series and the British GT3 and F3 package. The In2Racing team's second race weekend in the Ginetta Challenge saw an improved showing throughout the weekend from the team and driver David Barker in the Ginetta G40.

Qualifying saw the In2Racing car line up an impressive P15 and in Race 1, despite being down in P21 after a slow getaway into Copse, David Barker drove with an improved pace recording his best lap time of the weekend improving by some 5 seconds to finish in P14 at the flag.

Race 2 saw a good start from P16 on the grid and several places were traded over the 3.8 mile Silverstone GP circuit. A challenge for position at Becketts meant that David was forced into a spin and unfortunately into the gravel. After a delay the Marshals retrieved the car and allowed the G40 to restart the race. It was a disappointing way to end the promising weekend but significant progress had been made with David's on-track pace.

In2Racing Ginetta Challenge Debut

Ginetta Challenge DebutOn the Support package to the British F3 and British GT series at Donington Park the Ginetta Challenge meant a new series for the vastly experienced In2Racing team. David Barker was making his car racing debut and showed impressive form by Qualifying in P12 on the 30 car grid.

In race 1, held in damp conditions on the Sunday morning, the In2Racing car lined up on wets after a quick call to change after early morning rain. David ran strongly throughout his debut race and brought his immaculate G40 home in his first ever race in P13.

Starting from P16 for race 2, a shower before the start saw the G20 cars to the fore at the start due to their superior treaded tyre grip and a nervous David forced off by a fast starting G20. A recovery drive then started with mixed fortunes ultimately resulting in increased performance but with a few minor offs along the way. However, at the flag David finished and gained his second signature of the weekend.

Paradigm Returns to GT Cup with a Podium

Paradigm Porsche in GT CupPaul Hogarth returned to the In2Racing team for his first GT Cup race of 2011 at Anglesey. After getting to grips with a Porsche GT3 Car in testing, the Paradigm backed GT3 qualified in the 5th place for Race 1.

A great start saw Hogarth up to P3 early on. The TVR of Danny Winstanly was ahead but the In2Racing Porsche closed the gap before the TVR was forced to pit with problems. The short race format of the GT Cup meant that Paul was unable to catch the impressive Chevron of Jordan Witt for the lead so brought the Paradigm backed car home for P2 on his return.

In race 2, the In2Racing car ran strongly early on challenging for a podium spot before a sideways moment at the back of the challenging Anglesey circuit meant that Paul had to settle for P5 at the flag.
